All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth!

Well, it's official!  Miranda lost her 2 front teeth now!  She lost her other front tooth at school this morning.  She said she was eating her cereal at breakfast and she said it fell out when she took a bite.  She was so excited when I picked her up from school.  They put it in a little green treasure box for her so she wouldn't lose it.  She cannot wait until the tooth fairy comes again!  Boy, that tooth fairy has really made a lot of trips to our house this entire year!  She has lost 5 teeth this year!  I cannot believe how fast she has been growing!  Anyway, I tried to take a few pics of her with both of her teeth gone and she won't open her mouth so we can see them gone.  Her 2 bottom teeth that have come in are touching her gums where she lost her teeth.LOL  So, hopefully you can tell by looking at these pics!

That makes 4!!!

Miranda lost her fourth tooth today.  What is so special about this one is that it is one of her top front teeth, you know........one of the ones that you want for Christmas!LOL  She looks so cute without it.  I am thinking that the other front tooth will be out pretty soon too, because it is just as loose.  She lost her tooth at Cracker Barrel when she, my Dad, and I were going to have lunch there.  We had just gotten our food and she took one bite of her okra.  That's all it took for her to make her tooth go back towards the roof of her mouth.  Well, she started crying because it hurt when she bit down and then it started bleeding.  I took her to the bathroom and got some wet paper towels.  I asked her if I could pull it out since it was pretty much out anyway.  She insisted that I not pull it.  Well, we went back to our table to try and eat, and it just wasn't working for her.  So, she finally said I could pull it.  We went back to the bathroom and it didn't take any pulling hardly at all and it was out.  We still had some bleeding going on, so we stayed in the bathroom for a little while longer.  She told me she was freaking out!  I told her it was going to be okay.  I tried not to laugh when she said that.  Well, here are just a few pics of her without her tooth.  She is so excited now that it's over and done.  Now she wants the toothfairy to come and cannot wait to go to church without a tooth.LOL  You just gotta love the girl!

That pic is a little scary!LOL

Much better! :)

I now pronounce you.........Just kidding!

Here is Miranda in her Halloween costume! She chose this, NOT ME!!!!!! She decided that she wanted to be a bride for Halloween this year. I really think she looked like a beautiful bride! We went to a few houses down our street and then had to go back home, because I had us walk across a ditch to get to one of the houses, and got her beautiful white dress muddy. I was a baaaaaad Mama and just ruined her night! We got home and had to take another bath to wash all the mud off. I felt terrible! She also ran in the Eric Griffin Memorial Run for kids this year for the first time. We have this run every year during the Gurdon Forest Festival, and this was the first year that I thought Miranda would like to run in it. She loved it!!!! She also won 1st place in her division! I was so proud of her! She got a tall trophy and all of the kids got medallions to wear like they were in the Olympics! It was really fun! Here are some pics of both Halloween and the race.

Happy 5th Birthday Miranda!

Well, today we had Miranda's 5th birthday party. This year I decided to enjoy one of them for once. We had her party at Play By Play in Hot Springs! Great idea!!! The kids had a blast and I didn't stress near as much as I usually do. These people are awesome! They provided everything from the cake to the balloons. The only thing I had to bring was the goody bags for the kids! I loved it, and Miranda told me that this was the best birthday party ever! That says it all for me! Here are some pics of her party.

Playhouse Disney!!!

A week ago today, Miranda, Harleigh(one of her best friends), me, and a co-worker of mine(Lisa Long), went to Verizon Arena in Little Rock to see a Playhouse Disney concert! The girls had a blast! I took a bunch of pictures, but I will just post a few of them. It's going to be hard deciding which ones, but I will do my best! This was part of Miranda's birthday present. We are having her b-day party on the 10th at Play-By-Play. I will take pics of that when the time comes. Just pray that I don't forget my camera! I have been really bad about doing that! UGH!

Look, no training wheels!

Well, okay, I haven't been blogging in ages! I know it, I am so bad!!! I have just been so busy lately! No time to blog, but of course I have time to Facebook! That site is a curse on me....it's my addiction if you will! Well, I am going to make up for lost time and blog twice in one day! Woohoo! So, Scottie decides that Miranda needs to learn to ride her bike without her training wheels! Well, it didn't happen like he thought. She still needs to practice. It's not like he takes off the training wheels and VIOLA....she can ride without them that very second!!! She needs to practice at it, so these are some pics of her "trying" to ride her bike, but getting very frustrated, very fast!

Pre-K!!! ALREADY?!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, folks! It's official! My baby is not a baby anymore! As I type here, she is at her first day of "big" school! CRY, you ask?! I cried yesterday when I dropped her off at daycare for the very last time, and cried when I picked her up from daycare for the very last time.......this morning?!! No, I did not cry. WHAT?!!! Yes, I couldn't believe it! I wanted to when I first walked in the door of the school, but I held it back. Miranda made it VERY easy for me. I was taking pictures of her, and she would make that sound and roll her eyes, like "Oh Mom, how embarrassing"!!! What happened to my little baby girl?! She doesn't want me there, taking pictures of her first day at school! Well, needless to say, I have only about 7 pics of her. The only ones that she smiled in are the ones I took of her at home right before we left. She isn't even a teenager yet, and she is already embarrassed of me. Actually, I want to say that she is embarrassed of me with my camera, not of just ME!!! Anyway, I gave her a hug and told her that I loved her and to have a good day at school and said that I would be back for lunch to eat with her. She said okay, and that was it!!! I walked out and went home. I can't wait to see how her day went. I am going to pick her up today and then Scottie will pick her up from then on since I will be in Arkadelphia at work. Yes, I took a vacation day just for this......can't help it people, she is my only baby! This is a milestone for me! Okay, I will let you know how it went! Have a good one my friends!

P.S. This first pic is of her little friends at her daycare on her last day there! CRY!!! Here I go again!!!LOL

Move over Tiger Woods........

Friday, we took Miranda to Pirates Cove to play her first round of putt putt golf! I would have attached a pic for you, but my loving husband won't let me have TEXTING!!!!!!!!! Yes, I forgot my camera and so I had to take a pic on my cell phone of her putting her first golf ball. She is pretty good at it if I say so myself. Yes, her Daddy helped her out a little bit, but she came really close to getting a hole in one a time or two. She loved it!!!!!!! In fact, she cried when we finished and had to leave. By the way, it was no charge for her to play, because they asked me how old she was and I said 4 years old. The nice lady said that she was free! Woohoo! We need to take her more often, but not sure what age it is to where you have to pay. Didn't really ask....should have though. She will be 5 on October 1st. Well, either way, she had a good time and so we definitely have to take her back there. It was fun for all 3 of us! Nice little family outting that we normally don't get to do. Darn, sure wish I had the pic on here........SCOTTIE!!!!!

The Vacationers!

Hi ya'll! Long time no post, huh?!LOL I know, I know....I am a terrible blogger! I just don't have time to do the things that I want to that's fun anymore! It is so frustrating.....well anyway, enough about my problems. This is Miranda's Blog, not mine!

Her and I went on vacation last week and we had a great time! My Dad came and got us and took us to my Aunt's lakehouse for the most part of our time off. It was just a great place to relax and enjoy the lake on the boat. Miranda officially got in the lake for the first time to swim. I bought her one of those life jackets that looks like it has a built in swimsuit. I still had her wear a swimsuit underneath it though. Anyway, she got in the water and my wonderful cousin, Michael, did his best to give her a few lessons on how to swim. Now, she thinks she's a pro!LOL She even tried to teach ME to swim the next day out. It was too cute when she gave me some instructions on how to swim and when I took off and swam, she thought that I was a good student! She said in the biggest voice, "Mommy, you can SWIIIIIMMMM!!!!" Too funny!
We had the best time and saw the fireworks out on the lake two nights in a row! There is just something so relaxing about riding in a boat underneath the moonlight.....it was so tranquil! I have never done that before, and it sure won't be the last. Okay, well back to Miranda(I keep wondering off and talk about me). She got to meet two of her little cousins and spent time with her Grammy Great and Aunt and Uncle, and of course her Pa! She definitely wants to go back! So do I! Here are a few pics of us out on the lake. Her and I actually got in the tube for the first time ever too. It was a lot of fun! Hope you enjoy!

I am feverish!!!

Today Miranda has a fever and so I am staying home with her. She came in my room around 1AM and I am not even sure what she said, but when I picked her up to get on my bed, she was very warm. I took her temperature and it was 102.1(I added a degree since it was under her arm). I gave her Tylenol and then at 7AM it was 100.1. So I gave her Motrin. I called the Dr. to get her in and see what was up since she had no other symptoms. Saw the Dr. and said it must be just an early summer virus since she looked and acted fine. I can only treat her fever with Tylenol and Motrin. This has happened before a few months back and it is very frustrating when you can't do anything about it. Anyway, I am hoping that I can get my mother-in-law to watch her tomorrow so that I can go to work. If not, I am staying home again tomorrow. Well, I sure hope she gets better before Friday, because we are suppose to go to a birthday party that evening for a sweet little girl and her Daddy. Hope my baby feels better by then!

Tubes are out!!!

On Tuesday, May 19th, Miranda and I went to Little Rock to see her ear doctor. I know that the tubes were ready to come out at least since October, because when I took her to her well visit, Dr. Rucker said that they are working their way out and just kind of laying there in the wax. I know....gross, huh?! I guess it's not so gross to me since she is my baby. Anyway, the Dr. DID take them out and I asked him if I could keep them(I actually brought a little ziploc bag to put them in. I need to take a pic of it and put it on this post, but I don't feel like getting my camera and hooking it up to the laptop and downloading it and everything. I may try to do it tomorrow if I have more time. So, we are free and clear with no more infection and doing fine. Woohoo!!!

A Fishin' We Will Go!

Okay, this is a little painful for me, because I didn't get to witness this event! On Sunday, April 26th, 2009, Scottie took Miranda to his Dad's farm and they went fishing with her new Dora fishing pole. Wellllll, she caught her first fish WITHOUT ME THERE!!! UGH! I missed her first fish! By the way, it was a brim, whatever that looks like......SINCE I DIDN'T get to see it!!! Sorry, there are no pictures but I WASN'T there to take pictures!!! Scottie of course, didn't think about maybe taking a picture on his cell phone....oh wait, he probably didn't even HAVE his phone. Anyway, she was excited and I was so proud of her! Scottie proceeded to tell me that she not only caught her first fish, she also pee peed(spell)outside for the first time too. I am kind of glad that I didn't witness that part, because I probably would have freaked out!LOL She was happy about that event as well. She was so dirty that I gave her a nice bath and scrubbed her from head to toe! Now I recognize my squeaky clean girl! :)

Happy belated Easter!

This was the best I could do considering the yucky rain and cold Easter morning! Miranda actually was disappointed in what she got from the Easter Bunny this year. I always use the same basket since she was a baby because I thought it was a pretty basket. Anyway, I am not sure if that is why she responded this way, but she said "Uh, Mama......he gave me the same thing like last time!" I couldn't believe it! There was only a couple of things that were the same....and that's just because I thought she liked the candy from last time.LOL Anyway, the little toys she got were different. I may just tell her that the basket is like a Christmas Stocking....we use the same basket/stocking, and the Easter Bunny will come and fill your basket like Santa does your stocking. Hopefully that will work. She is too smart for her own britches! Hope everyone had a great Easter!

Pre-K is on the way!!!

Well, I took Miranda this morning to register for Pre-K here in Gurdon. It is a bittersweet moment for me. For her, it's just plain exciting! She gladly went with me and then as I was filling out paperwork, they were going to take her and let her play some games(test her skills out). She almost started crying when they were going to take her. I could tell that she didn't want to leave me. So, I asked if I could just walk her down there with them and they said that I could take my paperwork and walk into the room with her while she was tested. So, we did and they asked her about colors, counting, stacking blocks, listening to birds singing, balance, and all kinds of stuff to see how smart she is. She passed with flying colors!!! I was such a proud Mom, as always. They said that she had no problems at all to work on and that teachers just love students like this and that they will just eat her up! I was ecstatic!!! So, we went back to the front to finish out my paperwork and were done in no time. I even got to put down a preference of which teacher I would like to have. Everything went very smoothly and just hope that it stays that way. Well, her first day will be August 19th! I am still nervous about her first day and maybe even week. I just hope that she will do well. It's going to really be a weird feeling knowing that I won't be picking her up anymore after that day. I know I will get use to it. My baby is just growing up too fast!!! I know you mothers out there can relate!!! Like I said, it's a bittersweet moment.

Not Another One!!!

My poor baby is losing teeth right and left! Her 3rd tooth is just hanging there waiting to be pulled, but Miranda won't let me pull it. She is scared that it's going to hurt or that it will bleed. So, we had a long night last night. I tried for I don't know how long to get her to just open her mouth to grab that little bitty tooth, but no success in that department. So, I am just waiting until I go to pick her up from daycare today and I am sure that I will receive a little baggy from the teacher with a little tooth in it. The toothfairy is getting his/her workout this year from the Stricklin household!LOL I will let you know when it is out and I probably won't attach pictures unless it really looks a whole lot different. I am sure that you are tired of looking at missing teeth from a 4 year old. :0)

Breaking news just in!!! Miranda lost her 3rd tooth just about 15 minutes ago(3:45PM)! I got a call from Daycare saying that it needs to be pulled because it is just hanging there and they are not allowed to pull teeth. So, I had to go over there and pull it. I didn't really have to pull it though. I just grabbed a hold of it with a kleenex and it just kind of fell out.LOL It was THAT loose! Anyway, I stayed until it stopped bleeding and noticed that there is another tooth trying to come in it's place, so it was time. Okay people, over and out!!! :0)

The Tooth Fairy rides again!!!

Well, my child has lost another tooth! On February 24th she lost her second tooth at daycare during lunch time. I asked her what she was eating when it came out and she said salad.LOL She said she didn't even cry and that she brought it to Ms. Brittany and she put it in a baggy. The tooth fairy came that night and she got 4 quarters and Miranda was very happy about it. It wasn't but a couple of days later and I could see a tooth coming in. I thought there were two coming in at first and then noticed that it is just one coming through in both spots of where she lost her two teeth. Oh my!!! I have a feeling this girl is going to need braces! Her teeth are going to be crowded. My hygienist told me that she was going to have her Mama's mouth and teeth. I didn't want to believe it, but I am afraid she is right. In these pics, you can't see the tooth coming in, but you can see a bigger gap at the bottom where she lost two teeth.LOL The tooth next to the first one she lost is loose too, so it may not be too much longer before she loses her 3rd tooth. I will keep you up to date!!!

The Toothfairy Came!!!

Well, the Toothfairy came to see Miranda on Tuesday night(20th)! Yes, Miranda lost her first tooth at the age of 4 years old....way to early if you ask me! She is growing up too fast! It was so loose last night, that it was just hanging there and I was scared that she might lose it in the night while sleeping and swallow it or lose it at school and not be able to find it! So I went ahead and pulled it. She had changed her mind at the last minute about the color of the whistle she wanted. She said that she wants a blue whistle about 2 nights ago. I told her she needs to stick with one color or you are going to confuse the Toothfairy. It didn't do any good, because the Toothfairy was fresh out of blue whistles. She only had black ones, but had a blue strap to hang the whistle around her neck with. We wrote a letter to the Toothfairy and she wrote one right back to her along with the whistle. She was so excited about the whole thing....the tooth coming out, getting the whistle, getting to tell her friends and family! It was a big event last night! Alicia at daycare said that Miranda is the first one to lose a tooth in Mrs. Brittany's class ever!!! That was also exciting to her. She made history at Bright Beginnings!LOL Anyway, here are a few pics to see how cute she looks without a tooth!
